Masashi Kishimoto

Naruto’s creator Masashi Kishimoto had a lot in store for the franchise’s anniversary. He released a new one-shot manga centered on Minato Namikaze, the series’ protagonist Naruto’s father. The one-shot gave us an insight into Minato’s life. In addition, the Naruto anime also shared a reel featuring some of the most iconic scenes from the anime.

However, the excitement continues to build because that’s not all. As part of this milestone anniversary, Naruto has thrilling news- the original anime is returning with a series of special new episodes, taking us back to Team 7’s original incarnation on a new mission.

While it was disheartening to hear last summer that these episodes had been delayed indefinitely, we have some reassuring news. According to a new update from TV Tokyo executive Ichiro Ishikawa, these new Naruto episodes are still on deck for a release within the fiscal year. This update should instill confidence in fans, knowing that the wait will soon be over.

When Will ‘Naruto’ New Animation Release

According to the tweet mentioned earlier, Ichiro Ishikawa stated during the recent TV Tokyo Financial Results Q&A session that the Naruto 20th anniversary anime will be “broadcasted during the current fiscal year to commemorate its 20th Anniversary.” Fans still have a lot of questions about the project, as it was initially announced that four special episodes would be released last fall as part of this milestone celebration.

The original Naruto anime holds a special place in fans’ hearts and is undoubtedly set to make a highly anticipated return. The previously released teaser visual, featuring the pre-Shippuden Team 7 members—Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi—has sparked a wave of nostalgia and curiosity among fans. They eagerly await more details about the story unfolding in this new Naruto animation.

While the release window is still pretty wide, the report marks the first major update on the potential release since the franchise’s hiatus last summer. Given that both the Boruto and Naruto anime are currently on hiatus, the release of these new episodes in 2024 would undoubtedly be highly anticipated and well-received by fans.

The exact release date for the new Naruto 20th-anniversary episodes is yet to be finalized. It’s important to note that the fiscal year window is quite broad, which means that fans can expect the episodes to air anytime from later this year to before March 2025, which marks the end of the current fiscal year. We understand your excitement and assure you that we will keep you updated with the latest information as soon as it becomes available.
